Obituary for Johnson

Warren Lewis Johnson died on March 3, 1999. He was born on December 9, 1915 in Spring Valley, IL to Katheryn and Ray Johnson. After graduation from UNM, where he lettered in track, he joined the Army Air Corps. As a pilot, he served in WWII as director of Training at Biggs Field, TX and Base Commander of the Galapagos Islands. He was recalled in the Korean War as Air Force Public Information Officer in Seoul, Korea. An associate of New England Life, he was Director of Agencies and a Pension Consultant for many years. He leaves his wife, Betty and his daughter, Sharron Shipe of the family home; his son, Steven of Lake Latawa, MO; brothers, Kent of Albuquerque and Ross of Lakewood, CO. No services will be held, as per Mr. Johnson's request. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are by Sunrise Society of New Mexico, 891-8200.
