Obituary for Saavedra

Mr. John Edward Saavedra, age 46, after a long illness, went to be with the Lord on February 26, 1999. He was born on October 21, 1952 and was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his mother, Senobia Saavedra. He is survived by his father, Primo Saavedra and wife, Rita; four sisters, Margie Torres and husband, Ernie, Nancy Romero and husband, Charlie, Lucille Gutierrez and husband, Ray and Betty Minero and Bert; three brothers, Paul Saavedra and wife, Pauline, James Saavedra and wife, Dorthy of Las Vegas, NV and Richard Saavedra and wife, Frieda of Denver, CO; ex-wife, Cecilia Saavedra; and his godchild, Alyssa Florez, and numerous nieces and nephews. John worked for Galles Chevrolet for over 20 years and along with Cecilia owned La Mesa Lunch on Copper. John was loved by all of us and will be missed greatly. Funeral Services for Mr. Saavedra will be held on Monday at the St. Anne Catholic Church where the mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eddie Gutierrez, Jarett Saavedra, Kenny Sena, Ralph Minero, Stephanie Romero and Roberta Rowe. Visitations will be held on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.
