Meridith Juanita Hacker passed on after a short illness to eternal life on February 20, 1999 at the age of 72. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bob Samuel Hacker of Sandia Park; three daughters, Rebecca and husband, Frank Brown of Tucson, Sammie and husband, John Schick of Albuquerque, Deborah and husband, Ed Mulligan of Albuquerque; and one son, Larry and wife, Claudia Hacker of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen and wife, Toni Hacker. She has ten grandchildren and spouses, Cary Rumley, Dennis Seibert, Susan and Mark Hillmeyer, Doug Schick, Shawn and Deandra Mulligan, Bob and Becky Mulligan, Evan Mulligan, Joshua Hacker, Karen and Cheryl Hacker. She has eight great-grandchildren, James Mulligan, Ryan Mulligan, Justin Mulligan, Mark Mulligan, Shannon Mulligan, Eric Hillmeyer, Cary Shuburg and Marjerle Shuburg. Juanita's driving force in life was her family and religion. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and was loved by many. As a mother she was very proud of the accomplishments of her five children. She guided her children to always keep in mind how important family is in life. Education was important to her and she would often babysit so that her children could go to classes. She was an Ordained Minister, holding the office of Elder in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Music was a large part of her life. As her children were growing up she loved to play the piano and organ for them. As a gifted organist she gave a ministry of music to many people. As her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grew up they often spent days with Grandma working in her east mountain home orchard, feeding the birds, or just playing games-anything as long as her kids were having fun. She positively influenced many lives during her 30 years as an independent newspaper distributor in the east mountain area. Memorial services will be held 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 1999 at the Juan Tabo branch of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 4701 Juan Tabo with High Priest Dick Hahn presiding. Family visitation will occur immediately after. The Sunrise Society is serving the family, 891-8200.
