Obituary for Astle

Patricia Ferry Astle, 52, died Feb. 18, 1999, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. She was born Oct. 8, 1946 at Hutchinson, the daughter of Joseph and Gladys Ferry, both of Hutchinson. She attended public school in Hutchinson and was a graduate of Hutchinson High School and Washburn University, Topeka. A five year resident of Albuquerque, formerly of Emporia, she was a bank director of First Community Bank of Emporia-Madison. She was active in various school activities and the C.Y.O. and was a Hutchinson Newspaper carrier for many years. Survivors include two sons, Robert J. Astle, Las Vegas, Nev., and James E. Astle, Emporia; a daughter, Susan Camille Astle, Albuquerque; two brothers, John C. Ferry, Roeland Park, and Joseph J. Ferry, Boerne, Texas; a sister, Eddy Joan Sunbye, Boise, Idaho; an aunt, Margaret Ferry, Bangor, Maine; and she was soon to be a grandmother. Memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Carlson Funeral Home, Emporia. There will be no visitation. She had donated her body to the KU Med. Center.
