Obituary for Marino

George Marino, age 71, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Rosina (Rose) Marino of Albuquerque; one son, Richard P. Marino and wife, Judy of Albuquerque; three sisters, Dulcina Sanchez of Belen, Tillie Barela and husband, Benjamin of Flagstaff, AZ, Elsie Ulibarri and husband, Herman of Flagstaff AZ; one brother, Eddie Marino of St. John's, AZ; five grandchildren, Stephen Marino, Paul Marino and wife, Norma, Richard McCord, Christopher McCord, and Mikael McCord; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was a resident of Albuquerque for 46 years and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the Optimist Club. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday, September 6, 1999, at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 6, 1999, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Pl. SE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 7, 1999, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Pl. SE, with Father Robert Chabot officiating. Pallbearers are Cecil Garcia, Ross Lopez, Gabriel Chavez, Ramon Sanchez, Benjamin Barela, and Herman Ulibarri. Honorary pallbearers are Al Sena, Carlos Lopez, Albert Sanchez, Charles Sanchez, and Reyes Sanches. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, in charge of arrangements.
