Obituary for Mclehaney

Betty McLehaney passed away on Saturday, August 28, 1999, after an extended diabetic related illness. She is survived by her husband, Dewey McLehaney; and her brother, Fred Clarence, both of Albuquerque. Betty was born in Lawn Ridge, IL, and grew up in Henry, IL. She graduated from henry High School in 1947. After graduating from St. Francis School of Nursing, Peroria, IL in 1950, she came to the southwest; first working as a nurse in Ft. Defiance, AZ. Later she moved to Fort Bayard, NM to work as a nurse at the Veterans Administration Hospital. While there she met Dewey, and in 1954 they were married at Santa Rita, NM. In 1988, after Dewey retired from Shell Oil, they moved back to New Mexico. In accordance with Betty's wishes she will be cremated. There are no services planned. Throughout her life, Betty came to meet and touch many people; all of which have been special to her.
