Obituary for Oliver

Vivian Oliver, 93, of Albuquerque, formerly of Quincy, IL, died Saturday, August 21, 1999 at the Sierra Grande Manor. Her family was at her bedside. She is survived by her son, Earl D. Oliver and wife, Pauline of Albuquerque; grandchildren, David Oliver and wife, Pam, Dianna Sigler and fiance, Michael Caddell, Douglas Oliver and wife, Joanna, Duke Oliver and wife, Linda, Donna Burkhammer and husband, Eldon, Dawn Trujillo and husband, Robert, all of Albuquerque, and Denise Sigler and husband, John of Boone, CO and Deborah Pearce and husband, Charles of Ft. Worth, TX; 30 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Edna Moore of Des Moines, IA and Mary Ella Binning and husband, Hugh of St. George, UT; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, a former member of the Quincy Fire Department; son, Bruce Duane; and four brothers, Lewis, William, Harold and Walter (Jack). Mrs. Oliver was born July 11, 1906 in Quincy, IL. She was the daughter of Theodore and Mary Mines. She married Glenn W. Oliver on May 8, 1928 in Quincy. He died on January 20, 1980. Mrs. Oliver lived in Quincy until 1992, when she moved to New Mexico to be close to her son and family. She enjoyed music and loved to read and write beautiful poetry. Mrs. Oliver was a member of Central Baptist Church for over 60 years, an active member of the Phoebian Class, and had previously served as a deaconess of the church. Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 2, 1999, 2:00 p.m., at Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy, IL. French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
