Obituary for Mangano

Gaetano Mangano, 84, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 1999. Gaetano was born December 2, 1914, the son of Leonard and Josephine Montera Mangano in Palermo, Sicily. Gaetano resided in Long Island, New York until 1980 when he retired to Rio Rancho. Gaetano was a longtime member of the Italian American Association of Rio Rancho and the Rio Rancho Meadowlark Senior Center. He is survived by his loving wife, Vincenza; his sons, Leonard Mangano and wife, Loretta of Albuquerque, Anthony Mangano and wife, Joann of Commack, Long Island, NY; his daughters, Josephine Antenucci and husband, Harry of Albuquerque and Lena Mangano of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren, Vincenza, Renee, Gaetano, Bryan, Jessica, Christina, Lauren, David and Jason; four great-grandchildren, Casey, Leonard, Rhiannon and Andrew. A husband, father, and grandfather, who loved life and brought forth happiness to his family and friends. We will miss him. The visitation for Gaetano will be today, Saturday, August 21, 1999, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the Rosary being recited at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd., at Meadowlark Ln., in Rio Rancho. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 23, 1999, 10:30 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd., in Rio Rancho. The interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Leonard Mangano, Gaetano C. Mangano, Anthony Mangano, Bryan Mangano, Harry Antenucci and Jason Vlasovetz.
