Obituary for Malone

Geraldine M. (Gerry) Malone passed away peacefully at her home on August 18, 1999. She had just achieved the grand age of 70 years. Gerry was born in Kansas and married Joseph H. Malone in Andale, Kansas on December 29, 1953. She had lived 26 years in New Mexico, two years in Farmington, and 24 years in Albuquerque. Gerry was a registered nurse, mother, homemaker, and quilter extraordinaire. Gerry co-founded her quilting group, Kactus Quilters and was active in the group until her illness. Her son, Michael John Malone, preceded her in death. Gerry is survived by her husband, Joseph H. Malone; four loving sons and their wives, Terrence G. and Karen Malone, Timothy J. and Suzanne Malone, G. Michael Malone and wife, Diane Fehrenbach, and James. A. and Arlen Malone; and her only daughter, Peggy E. Malone. Also surviving Gerry are four grandchildren, Alexandra and Victoria, children of Mike and Diane, and Mackenzie and Rachael, children of James and Arlene. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 22, 1999, at Chapel of Sandia Funeral Care. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, August 23, 1999, at Church of the Risen Savior with Rev. Paul Baca as Celebrant. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
