Obituary for Beserra

Mr. Frank Beserra, longtime resident and political leader of Albuquerque, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 1999. A Rosary is being held on Tuesday, November 30, 7:00 p.m., at Sacred Heart Church, 4th and Stover SW. Internment services are scheduled for Wednesday, December 1, 9:30 a.m., at National Cemetery in Santa Fe. Mr. Beserra is survived by his wife, Beatrice; his sons, Frank Beserra Jr. from Washington, DC, Rudy and Lois Beserra from Atlanta, GA, Carlos and Angie Beserra of San Antonio, TX; four granddaughters, Andreaa Bencomo, Nicole Beserra, Alana and Olivia Beserra; and two sisters, Ruth Griego, Lanny Apodaca and her husband, Richard. Mr. Beserra was a veteran of World War II, a life member of the American Legion, and former Commander of Post 13. He also served as a member of the Model Cities Board. Mr. Beserra, through his actions, instilled in us to always be proud of who we are and where we are from. The Beserra family would like everyone to know that the comfort and support that all our family and friends have given us during the past week is very much appreciated.
