Julia Alston McPhail, 82, of Moriarty, died September 8, 1999, after a long illness. She was born in Columbus, Mississippi, but was a long-term resident of Albuquerque, where she made many friends through her employment at La Placita. She was past President of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Joshua (Elizabeth) Meador; a sister-in-law, Juanita Y. Alston; and nephews, Philip Meador and Phillip Alston, and their families. Services will be held at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, New Mexico.
