Obituary for Zanios

George J. Zanios, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1955, died Tuesday, October 5, 1999. He is survived by his son, Jim Zanios and wife, Patsy of Albuquerque; daughter, Kristie Skarman of Newport Coast, CA; mother of his children, Eva Zanios of Albuquerque; former wife, Mary Vandenradt, and loving family; grandchildren, Jay Zanios, James Zanios and wife, Pamela, all of Albuquerque, Ashley Skarman, of Newport Coast, CA and Suzie Whitney and husband, Doug of Mission Viejo CA; great-grandchildren, Talitha Rose Zanios and mother, Kimberly of Santa Fe, Nick Whitney and J.J. Whitney; brother, Chris Zanios of Florida; and sisters, Marie Malaktaris, Stella Pathoulous, both of Iowa, Jean James of Michigan, Louella Rumeliote of Minnesota and Helen Berris of Michigan. Mr. Zanios was preceded in death by his sisters, Fela Soumas, Liz Paras,and Gert Ringus; brother, Tom Zanios; and son-in-law, John Skarman. Mr. Zanios was the founder of Southwest Egg Company, which is presently Zanios Foods. He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Services will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 308 High St. SE, with Father Mario Giannopoulos officiating. Private interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Roy Chenoweth, Tom Bertelle, Jamie Zanios, Greg Patten, Charles Bradley, and Chris Kirikos. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Vatoseow, Mike Argeanas, Dr. Tom Arvas, and Chris Daskalos.
