Obituary for Trujillo

Bennie Trujillo, 1918 - 1999 (son of Frank Trujillo and Emma Vigil, formerly of Willard, New Mexico) died on September 26, 1999 in Los Angeles. Survived by brother, Albert Trujillo, wife, Rachel Trujillo; daughters, Stella Varey, Emily Devlin, Pat Delli Veneri, Theresa Hew; and son, Bennie Jr.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Born in Willard, New Mexico, he later moved to Mountainair, where he met and married Rachel Tabet of Mountainair in 1938. He came to Los Angeles in 1942 and worked as an electrician for Douglas Aircraft Company. In 1947, he opened B&A Electric with brother, Albert, serving such prominent customers as the Southern California Flower Growers, Santa Fe Railroad, United Merchants, and L.A. Baking Company, among others. Retired and closed business in 1998. Will be be remembered by family, friends, and business associates for his kind nature, generosity, energy, and many varied talents. Although he moved to California, his heart was still in New Mexico, where he often returned for high school reunions and to visit his favorite places such as Jemez Springs in the Manzano mountains. Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 2nd in Manhattan Beach, CA. In carrying out their father's wishes, the surviving family will spread Bennie's ashes in Jemez Springs in the near future.
