Obituary for Adams Smith

Adams- Louise Adams Smith, 85, a resident of Albuquerque for over 50 years, died Friday, September 17, 1999. She is survived by sister, Ruth E. Hebson of Sylacauga, AL; seven nieces, Frances Black, Teresa Black, Betty Jo Robertson, Susie Brooker, Linda Robinson, Judy Holley, and Ann Baker; five nephews, James W. Matthews, John Brooker, Thomas Brooker, Mac Hebson, and Harold Hebson; and brother-in-law, Robert Adams and wife, Ruth of Albuquerque. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her first husband, William Adams; and her second husband, Wesley Smith. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama and earned her masters degree from Syracuse University. She was a teacher for 35 years and taught at Jefferson Middle School in Albuquerque. Mrs. Smith also previously taught in New York and Alabama. She was an active member of the Uptown Garden Club. Services will be held at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Norton Scrimschire officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Albuquerque Garden Center, 10120 Lomas Blvd. NE, 87112 or to the Hiland Theatre Restoration, c/o Southwest Musical Theatre at 4804 Central Ave SE, 87108.
