Emelia (Emily) Ramirez, 75, a lifetime resident of the Albuquerque area, died Tuesday, August 10, 1999. Mrs. Ramirez was born in Irizarra, NM on June 22, 1924 to Maximinia and Higinio DeLuna. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Mercy Ramirez of the family home; son, Paul Ramirez and wife, Cecile of Albuquerque; daughter, Mary Ann Mafinas and husband, John of Perris, CA; grandchildren, Alicia and Benjamin Ramirez of Albuquerque, Eric Mafinas of San Diego, CA Sandra Eustice and husband, Doug of Redlands, CA; three great-granddaughters, Christina, Sharlaina and Vanessa Eustice of Redlands, CA; sisters-in-law, Celia Sanchez of Denver, CO and Lucy Goodrich of Trinidad, CO; many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, Godchildren and friends; and her loving dog, Maiyan. Mrs. Ramirez was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 12, 1999, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School NE, with Deacon Bob Martinez reciting. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Friday, August 13, 1999, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, with Father Domingo Gumpal, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Benjamin Ramirez, Eric Mafinas, Higinio DeLuna, Florenio DeLuna, Eddie DeLuna and Manuel Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Konitzer, John Gonzales, Mike Chavez, Robert Martinez and Barry Armstrong. Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Thursday, August 12, 1999, at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
