Obituary for Ake

Beatrice (Bee) Ake passed away Monday, August 2, 1999 at the Good Samaritan Village in Socorro at the age of 82. She was born January 5, 1917 to Harry and Harriett Williams in St. Louis, MO. Bee and her husband, Rocky moved to Socorro from Las Cruces in 1949 where they operated the Ake Motel for 22 years. Bee was an active member of San Miguel Catholic Church, the Socorro Women's Golf and Socorro Tennis Association, and a volunteer for Good Samaritan Village. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe; and two brothers, Harry and Frank Williams. She is survived by her two children, Allen Ake and his wife, Linda of Colorado Springs, CO and Annette Buchanan and husband, Rex of Las Cruces; granddaughter, Sandra Aguilar and husband, Richard; great-grandchildren, Tyson and Kaylee Aguilar of Overland Park, KS; brothers, Duncan Williams of Albuquerque, Jack Williams of El Paso, TX and Robert Williams of Las Cruces. A Rosary in her memory will be recited at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 7, with a Memorial service following at 10:30 a.m. at the Steadman-Hall Funeral Home Chapel, 309 Garfield St., Socorro, NM. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Ake, Teresa Barron, Rex Buchanan, Barry, Duncan, Jack and Robert Williams. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Good Samaritan Village Special Care Unit, P.O.
