Obituary for Avila

Alberto Lara Avila, 63, a resident of Albuquerque for 37 years, died recently at his home. He is survived by his daughter, Maria C. Dorsey and her husband, Bryan of Albuquerque; son, Albert Avila Jr. of Albuquerque; son, Mark D. Avila of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; son, Johnny E. Avila of Tucson, Arizona; daughter, Flora M. Mascarenas and husband, Steve of Albuquerque; daughter, Silvana Roybal and husband, Dennis of Albuquerque; son, Edward J. Avila of Albuquerque; son, Richard D. Avila of Tucson, Arizona; 18 grandchildren; a sister, Josephina Guevara of Plainview, Texas; and a brother, Espiridion"Piro" Avila of Plainview, Texas. Alberto was employed as a brick layer here in Albuquerque since 1962. Alberto was an avid artistic painter and a member of the Barelas Senior's Center. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday at Aspen Funeral Alternatives, 1935 Juan Tabo NE.
