Obituary for Porter

Hollis Leon Porter, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, died Wednesday, June 23, 1999 in Phoenix, AZ. He is survived by his daughter, Janice Bain and husband, Doyle of Phoenix, AZ; brother, R.L. Porter of Ransom Canyon, TX; three sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Lou; brothers, Melvin and J.K.; and sister, Mellie Lacy. He was a WWII Army Air Corp Veteran of the Okinawa Campaign. Services will be held Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Alameda, 8818 2nd Street NW, with Pastors R.L. Porter and Jim Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro NE. Pallbearers will be Jim Weaver, Marty Fuentes, Red Robertson, Floyd Smith, Leo Smyth and Jack Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Carlyle Nix, Joe Brown and Lee Oldfield.
