Obituary for Jaramillo

Pedro Jaramillo, 90, beloved father, grandfather, and brother, was called home to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 2, 1999 while surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Jaramillo was born on January 15, 1909 in Carnuel, NM; he was one of the original heirs of the Carnuel Land Grant; he was a 50 year resident of Albuquerque in the Old Town area; and retired from the Santa Fe Railroad after 26 years of employment. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia; a son, Lorenzo; and two brothers, Natividad and Elisardo. He is survived by two sons, William Jaramillo and wife, Nora, Ernie Jaramillo and wife, Renee; one daughter, Ramona Rhea and husband, Richard; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Ismael and Ted Jaramillo; two sisters, Eluida Navarro and Amadita Francia. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitations will be today, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the chapel of Garcia Mortuary, on the corner of 8th and Stover. A Rosary will be recited this evening, 7:00 p.m., at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at the Carnuel Cemetery in Carnuel, NM. Casket bearers will be Johnny Jaramillo, Dean Jaramillo, Toby Jaramillo, Adeliado Herrera, Ofemiano Herrera and Marc Herrera.
