Billie Robberson was born June 18, 1922 in Deming, NM to Edward and Corine Hall. But because of the premature death of her parents, she grew up in the home of her uncle and aunt, Frank and Emma Dale of Reed, OK. Billie Robberson's first husband and father of her children was E.C. Thornberry, originally from Ft. Payne, AL. They met in Reed, OK and were married there in July 1940. They moved first to Tucumcari, NM where their first daughter was born and then moved to Albuquerque in February 1942 where they raised their four daughters. They joined Edith Street Baptist Church where they formed lifelong friendships that have enriched their lives down through the years. E.C. Thornberry died May 16, 1963. Billie Robberson was employed for many years with Mountain Bell Telephone Company, Universal Contractors, Clinton P. Anderson Insurance Agency (bought out by Alexander & Alexander) and Brokerage Services. Billie and Jack Robberson, currently members of Hoffman Baptist Church, married July 3, 1993 after renewing a friendship dating back to 1941 when Billie and E.C. Thornberry had moved to Tucumcari and had rented an apartment from Jack Robberson and his first wife, Sue, Jack and E.C. had enjoyed playing sports together. The family of Billie Robberson would like to express appreciation to all of those who demonstrated interest and concern during her illness. This included the wonderful care provided through the Presbyterian Hospice Services.
