Obituary for Berg

LaVerne M. Berg, 87, passed away April 24 in Bozeman, Montana. She was a resident of Albuquerque for 53 years. She was born January 11, 1912 in Chicago, Illinois to Dr. Milford Leach and Pauline Krueger. She attended Milwaukee State Teachers College. In 1934, she married Gilbert Allis Jr. in Crown Point, Indiana. In 1942, she and daughter, Jerelyn moved to Albuquerque. Mr. Allis was killed during the Normandy Invasion of WWII. In November of 1944, LaVerne married Jack Berg and together they had three children. She and Jack were married for 33 years when he passed away in 1977. She was an active member of the Daughters of the Nile and dedicated her life to raising her children and to being a loving wife. In 1993, she moved to Bozeman, Montana where her son lives. She is survived by her four children, Valerie Berg, Albuquerque, Rosemary Nelson, Greenfield, WI, Larry Berg, Gallatin Gateway, MT, Jerelyn Eisenberg, Albuquerque; sister, Doris Thomas, Albuquerque; grandchildren, Debbie Freebairm, Gary Eisenberg, Stephen Eisenberg, Noah Gins, Andrea Ellison, Robert Nelson, Vanessa Berg and Brandon Berg. LaVerne also has ten great-grandchildren. Cremation took place in Bozeman and a private family ceremony was held in her honor in the home of her son in Montana.
