Obituary for Griffin

Bernett E. Griffin, (Ed), 60, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 24, 1999. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Geraldine Griffin; two sons, Tony Griffin, Tracy Griffin and wife, Sandra; a daughter, Trulee Griffin and fiancee, Randy Lucero; four grandchildren, Sam, Chad, Adrian, and Nicole. Also, surviving are parents, Bernett Griffin and Ava Bassham; sisters, Ruby Nichols and husband, Marvin, Cauletta Stumbaugh; brother, Perry Bassham and wife, Kelly; many nieces, nephews and friends. Ed was a retired Lieutenant form the Albuqueque Police Department where he served 27 devoted years. He was also a past president and member of the Fraternal Order of Police for the past 39 years. He served in the US Army and was a graduate of Northwestern University. Services will be held at Hillside Community Church, 435 Jefferson SE on Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. with Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A gathering to honor Ed Griffin will be held at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge following the Interment. Pallbearers will be Robert Valtierra, Turman Bragg, Bob Foote, Rocky Nogales, Mark Norlander, Paul Frostensen, Henry Nunez, Tom Trujillo, Ivall Miller; Honorary Pallbearers, the Albuquerque Police Department. Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE, in charge of arrangements.
