Obituary for Dingman

Florence M. Dingman, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1924, died Friday, January 8, 1999. She is survived by her husband, George L. Dingman of the family home; sons, George L. Dingman, Jr., and wife, Myrna of Albuquerque, and Charles E. Dingman and wife, Lynn, of Greenbelt, MD; daughter, Amy Dingman of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Paul Dingman of Albuquerque, Christopher Dingman of Greenbelt, MD, and Andrea, Celestina, Joshua and Leah Garrison, Jacob Hodshire, all of Albuquerque; great grandchildren, Zachery and Jazmaine; sister, Dora N. Suhr, niece, Doris Razura; nephew, Bryan Suhr and wife, Dodie, all of Albuquerque; and many cousins and second cousins in other states. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry M. Noecker; mother, Minnie Essman Noecker; sister, Ann Noecker in February 1919; and brother, Charles D. Noecker. Mrs. Dingman was born in Winchester, Washington. She graduated from Albuquerque High School with the class of 1930 where she was a member of the Honor Society and was awarded the Marian Coons Kindness Award. Florence graduated from UNM in 1934 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics. She also attended Albuquerque Business College and received a certificate in Business. She was a member of Phrateres, an organization of independent women. For many years she worked in various real estate/insurance offices. Florence married George L. Dingman on August 21. 1942 in Phoenix, AZ. After her children were in school, she worked in the various public school cafeterias. She was a member of Lew Wallace Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Genealogy Club of the Albuquerque Public Library, and also the Zia Roamers Chapter of the Good Sam Club, and R.V. Club. She and her husband enjoyed traveling all over the U.S. having visited all 50 states. She also took great joy in finding her second cousins who she knew nothing about until later in life. Services were held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at Highland Baptist Church 417 Palomas Drive, SE with Rev. Winfred Walker officiating. Interment followed at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers were Donald Holmes, Rob Worley, Donald Hinman, Jack Locke, Bruce Rich, and John Chastang. Honorary pallbearers were Donald Coppock, Niel Johnson, James Hesse, and John Malfer.
