Obituary for Gallegos

Nick S. Gallegos, 74, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away quietly at home Wednesday, June 16, 1999. Mr. Gallegos was born in Lemitar, NM to Nepomoseno and Sinforsa Gallegos; he was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church; a World War II Veteran; he earned his Bachelor's Degree in 1950 from the University of New Mexico; Nick retired from the Federal Government Service after 38 years of service; he enjoyed fishing, baseball, retirement, and most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Gallegos in 1982. He is survived by his loving children, Thomas L. Gallegos and wife, Rosemary, Christina Pedroncelli and husband, John, Janice Gallegos and husband, Reed Schmell all of Albuquerque, Margaret Cordova and husband, Robert of Littleton, CO, and Loretta K. Gallegos of Rio Rancho, NM; six precious grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Abran Gallegos of San Diego, CA; two sisters, Anunciacion Baerwald and husband, Beno of Albuquerque and Virginia Belden of Sacramento, CA. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Tashi, for his kind and gentle care given to their father during his last year at home. Visitations will be this evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, on the corner of 8th and Iron, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Pl., SE. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be, Scott Hungate, Brian Cordova, Stephen Cordova, John Ulibarri, John Pedroncelli and Reed Schmell. Honorary bearers will be, Patrick M. Gallegos and Robert Cordova. Funeral Services are under the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave., SW 243-5222.
