Obituary for Chavez

Mr. Manuel"Bobby" Chavez died Thursday in Albuquerque at the age of 65. Mr. Chavez was a veteran of the Korean Conflict for which he was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of the DAV Chapter 3 and loved sports, especially boxing. He is survived by his wife, Dora Chavez; sons, Michael Chavez, Ralph Chavez and Steven Chavez; daughter, Rita Sandoval and husband, Rudy; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Chavez will be held on Monday at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lopez, Phillip Lopez, Ruben Lopez, Eddie Sedillo, Rudy Sandoval and Albert Gallegos. A Rosary for Mr. Chavez will be recited on Saturday evening, 7:00 p.m., at the Salazar and Sons Mortuary and on Sunday evening, 7:30 p.m., at the Holy Rosary Church.
