Obituary for Weaver

Walter Lee"Walt" Weaver, Jr. 53, born in Columbus, Ohio and longtime resident of San Antonio, Texas and a resident of Albuquerque since 1973 passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3., 1999 in a local hospital. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sandra Weaver; one daughter, Amy Celeste Weaver, graduate student at Notre Dame University; two sons, Derrek Ryan Weaver, law student at Texas Tech, and Dustin Kyle Weaver, freshman at Texas A&M, his father and step-mother, Walter Lee and Florence Weaver, FL and Aussie son, Simon Ogilvie of Australia plus many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Olive Weaver. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He loved his family and his profession and was known as the worlds greatest husband, father and landscape architect. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to share and teach his children and friends how to hunt and fish. He was a history buff and loved the southwest. He was a graduate of Texas A&M, class of 1968. He served as an officer in the US Army. He was instrumental in creating successful businesses relating to the landscaping industry, including Walter Weaver Inc. and Albuquerque Grounds Maintenance, Inc. Walt's courage these past three years in his battle with Cancer was an inspiration to his family and friends. His charm and sense of humor and gorgeous blue eyes, will be greatly missed by his family and numerous loving friends. Arrangements are pending and will be announced by Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal SE. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Walter Weaver, Jr. to the Cancer Society, New Mexico Division 5800 Lomas Blvd. NE, 87110 for research for Multiple Myeloma.
