Obituary for Pampalone

Leo Pampalone, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 1999, after many months of illness and suffering. Those left to mourn his passing are his beloved wife of 58 years, Mary Pampalone; son, Leonard Pampalone; daughter, Patricia Bearly and husband, Russell, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Mike Pampalone and wife, Ann, Sam Pampalone, Nick Pampalone and wife, Theresa, Anthony Pampalone and wife, Mary Ann, Dominic Pampalone and wife, Judy and Angelo Pampalone and wife, Priscilla; and sisters, Lucy Deluise and Gasparine Pampalone and their families, all of Indiana. Prior to his retirement in 1978, Leo was for many years, the store manager of the Sandia Base (now Kirtland AFB) Commissary, where he was awarded several commendations for excellent performance. He was a WWII veteran. Mr. Pampalone was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church for 47 years since his arrival in Albuquerque from Gary, IN. Leo was a wonderful man devoted to his family. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Rosary will be recited Friday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 9:30 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Pl. SE, with Father bob Chabot, Celebrant. Private interment will take place. Pallbearers will be Russell Bearly, Leonard Pampalone, Herman Griego, Abbie Griego, Mike Pampalone, and Nick Pampalone.
