Obituary for Jones

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday June 11, 1999

J.B. Jones, well-known tattoo artist, has been called home. On June 9, 1999, James Bryan Jones died suddenly at St. Joseph's Hospital of a brain hemorrhage. J.B. had been an angel on earth for 29 years, spreading beauty, astounding tattoos and laughter to all those lucky enough to know him. He was the beloved son of Hank (L. Henry) and Jodi Jones; and the outrageous brother of Jennifer (J.J.) Jones and Shelby Garcia (and her husband, Sal). He was the devoted uncle of his best friend, Acton, and Ella and Spencer. He was a very special friend to Danielle Lamphier. He is survived by grandparents, Howard and Joan Boyd and Mrs. Marjorie Shirley of South Carolina. He gave everyone he knew a unique perspective on life, and everyone he ever met became part of his family. Though he is hanging out with Jesus now and watching down on all of us, we will deeply miss his amazing illustrated body, goofy smile and gentle soul. His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to All Faith's Receiving Home. For more information on the celebration of his life, please call Jodi at 294-4694 or Shelby at 821-5593. We'll catch up with you later, J.B.
