Mrs. Barsanti was born on July 4, 1909 in Vaughn, NM to Howard and Ida (Piersol) Nixon, three years before New Mexico became a state. She married Henry Barsanti in 1935, and had two sons, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Pat was the President of the Italian Women's Club, a Deaconess at First Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque, and more recently a member of Trinity Church. She retired from Bond Paint Company at the age of 87, after working there as a bookkeeper for 26 years. She wrote several poems, and requested the following one be published upon her death. I come to thee, dear Father God Thou knowest where my feet have trod: I gave of my talents, goods and time Forsook all else, dear Lord Divine. I repented my sin as I knelt in prayer Searched they word, found solace there: Accepted the sacrifice of they Son for me, He paid for our sins on calvary. I've served thy church and served at home Nursed the sick and visited those alone: Now I come to Thee, in weariness Seeking for Thee-my soul to bless. Is there more that I should do- To serve as Thou would have me to?- The answer came as from above- "Yes, my child, you forgot to love."
