Obituary for King

Lila Faye King, 83, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, June 8, 1999. Private family services at the King Family Ranch in New Mexico will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. King was born in Boise City, OK and graduated from high school in 1935. She worked in the county clerks office. She and her husband moved to Albuquerque in 1942 and remained there for 56 years before moving to Amarillo in 1997. They owned and operated Mesa Tractor Co. for many years. Mrs. King was an active member of the National Old Time Fiddlers Assoc. She was a member of Unity Church and served as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher for 20 years. She married Ralph King on April 5, 1936 at Boise City, OK. She is survived by her husband of the home; a daughter, Esther Barnett of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Kary Barnett and Kay Medford; and five great-granddaughters.
