Albita Benavidez, 80, beloved and devoted mother and grandmother, was called home to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 5, 1999. She was a lifelong resident of New Mexico; a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mrs. Benavidez was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Benavidez. She is survived by one daughter, Norina Rey and husband, Luis; two sons, Louie Benavidez and wife, Virginia, Marty Benavidez and wife, Rebecca; eight grandchildren, Nadine Schlamp, Cesar Rey, Katrina Yerbich, Martin E. Benavidez, Adam Benavidez, Bianca Benavidez, Martin Benavidez and Deanna Benavidez; and seven great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today, 1:00 p.m., at Sacred Heart Church, with the Reverend James Moore, as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Cesar Rey, Martin E. Benavidez, Martin Benavidez, Adam Benavidez, Michael Yerbich and Mike Schlamp. Funeral services are under the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW.
