Obituary for Long

Robert Eugene Long passed away peacefully on May 28th at home after a long battle with cancer. He was 63. He was a resident of his beloved New Mexico since 1955. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Susan Lee Long, and his dear children Sherry Robin Vicki, Theresa Suzette Brewer, Anthony Eugene Long, and Angela Marie Long, plus son-in-law Guido Vicki and daughter-in-law Helen Ann Long. Robert has four grandchildren, Eve Marie Martinez, Meredith Leigh Vicki, Amanda Rose Johnson and Adam Mitchell Johnson, and three great-grandchildren, Christina Martinez, Anthony Steven Vicki, and Robert Quasti Hawkeye Montoya. He is also survived by his loving Mother, Cecelia Eileen Long and his two caring sisters, Carol Ann Angus and Pamela Sue Baker and his sister-in-law Lois Long. Robert also has a multitude of very special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, plus dear and compassionate friends in New Mexico as well as all over the world. A lithographer and teacher by trade, he worked at SIPI for many years and also owned and operated Two Moons Graphics in Albuquerque until his retirement in November of 1996. He was one of the founders and first President of the Placitas New Mexico Fire Brigade as well as a Past-President of the Las Huertas La Jara ditch commission. He also was instrumental in setting up the first official printing facility for the C.D.S. of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the 1980's. Cremation has taken place. A memorial will be held on Saturday, June 12th at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel, 138A Frontage Road, Rio Rancho. For directions call 896-2990.
