Obituary for Hall

Laurel Hope Hall, 88, born on a homestead near Torreon in the Manzano Mtns, NM, on May 10, 1911, went to be with the Lord on May 28, 1999, Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Robert J. Hall. She is survived by her daughter, Genevieve Fisher and husband, Bill; her son, James D. Hall and wife, Dorothy; her sister, Edna Jane Grimm; granddaughters, Genia L. Muniz, Deborah L. Hall, Rebecca Sue Hall, Wendy Anne Fickers and husband, David, all of Albuquerque, and Julia Jane Harmon and husband, Jon of Manhattan Beach, CA, Kathryn Bisson and husband, Jim of Littleton, CO; grandsons, Glenn B. Smith and wife, Lorraine of Bernalillo, NM and Dirk N. Smith of Manchester, CT; and 15 great-grandchildren. She spent part of her young life on Los Ranchos de Los Goldrinas, at the ELKS Lodge in the Pecos, in Santa Fe and attended Albuquerque High School and the Western School for Private Secretaries. She loved fishing, baking, dancing, sewing, hat-making, gardening, the Lord and her family. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters and was a Deacon at the Northminster Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque. She was currently a member of Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church. She and Robert enjoyed living in the Jemez Mountains for 25 years after he retired from the Albuquerque National Bank. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her loving ways and as the best pie maker in the West! A memorial service will be held at Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church (1801 Montano Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107) on Friday, June 4, 1999, at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either Shepherd of the Valley or the Jemez Springs Community Presbyterian Church, PO Box 97, Jemez Springs, NM 87025. Cremation arrangements are in the care of Sunrise Society, 891-8200.
