Mr. Serafico Elwell, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on July 21, 1999. Mr. Elwell was the beloved husband of 61 years to Mrs. Orocia Elwell. Mr. Elwell is also survived by three sons, Aniseto Elwell and wife, Estella, Tony Elwell and wife, Rosie and David Elwell and wife, Kathy; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Fedelino Elwell; several nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Elwell was preceded in death by his son, John Gomez and his grandson, Steve Elwell. Mr. Elwell was a member of the Catholic Church and a member of the Escabosa Riders Club. A Rosary will be recited Friday evening, 6:00 p.m., at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW, with visitation at the church after 5:30 p.m., Gabriella Nieto will recite the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning, 9:00 a.m., at Holy Rosary Church with viewing at the church after 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Elwell, Paul Elwell, David Elwell II, Edward Elwell, Thomas Elwell and Felix Barela. Honorary will be Fidel Zamora and Tom Hernandez. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, in charge of the arrangements.
