Obituary for Pierson

Walter L. Pierson, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1961, died Sunday, July 18, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Liza"Nadine" Pierson; sons, Rick Pierson of Albuquerque and Thomas L. Pierson of Springfield, OH; daughter, Peggy L. Pierson of South Solan, OH; grandchildren, Travis Pierson and Micah Pierson, all of Albuquerque; great-granddaughter, Natalie Ann; and sister-in-law, Ruby Pierson of Springfield, OH. Mr. Pierson served in the Army during World War II in the 8th infantry division. He was a Combat Infantry Sharpshooter, and was awarded the Purple Heart with the 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, and two bronze stars. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church since 1963. Mr. Pierson worked in the Planning department at the City of Albuquerque for a number of years. Services will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University NE. Interment will take place 12:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
