Obituary for Herrera

Bailon Herrera, 74, a resident of Espanola, NM, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 1999. He was a member of the New Jerusalem Church of Belen. He was a retired teacher and principal for the Espanola Public Schools for 37 years, retiring after many years of outstanding service. Bailon was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Elva in 1986; his sisters, Tila, Mary, and Francis Ortiz; two brothers, Joe and Jake Herrera. He is survived by his two loving sons, John and his wife, Linda of Albuquerque, Eddie and his wife, Mary Lou of Los Chavez; one daughter, Evelyn McClarie and her husband, Mark of Highlands Ranch, CO; eight grandchildren, Pamela, Adrian, Diego, Venessa, Isaiah, Elese, John, and Erin; two brothers, Gilbert and his wife, Duvie of Albuquerque and Diego and his wife, Edith of Espanola. Bailon is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Romero Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen, NM.
