Reid H. Payne, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Wednesday, December 30, 1998. He is survived by his sons, Donald Payne and R.J. Payne and wife, Beverly; daughter, Leston Bass and husband, Jerry, all of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Payne was a member of Rio Grande Baptist Church. Services will be held Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Ernest Key officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
