Obituary for Wilson

Leona E. Wilson, born June 1913 in Addilee, OK, died March 19, 1999 in her home in Albuquerque following a brief illness. Leona is survived by her son, Joe D. Wilson of San Clemente, CA; daughter, Dony Wanemah Metoyer of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Erin Whitmire Wilson of Huntington Beach, CA; cousins, Faye Gene Buffington and family of Watts, OK, Lewellyn Rogers and family of Blanchard, OK, Roland Snip and family of Ralston, OK, Rena Russell and family of Hominy, OK and Raymond Smith of Albany, GA. Leona taught school in the Albuquerque school system for 40 years. She was innovative in bringing new programs to the A. Montoya School, where she taught for 15 years. Leona was a member of The First Church of Religious Science, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, and Gold Star Wives. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, 5:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Interment of cremains will take place in Addilee, OK in the family plot. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leona E.
