Obituary for Miller

Roland E. Miller went to his happy hunting grounds on March 21, 1999. Grandpa was born on the Stockbridge-Munsee Reservation, WI in 1918. He proudly served our country in both WWII and the Korean War. He retired from the BIA in 1971. Grandpa was a member of the Mohican Nation and a very active Haskel Alumn. He was also an active member of Christ Lutheran Church. He left us as a strong and proud man and will be missed dearly. Grandpa is survived by his wife of 57 years, Irene; sister, Lila; niece, Doreen; his two sons, Lee Miller and wife, Mary, Jeff Miller and wife, Cindy; two daughters, Kay Janisch and husband, Tom and Carol McFall and husband, George. He will be lovingly remembered by his five grandchildren, Cari Payne and husband, Arthur Woosley, Chad Payne and wife, Penny, April Miller Serrano and husband, Dan, Jenifer Metz and husband, Brett, Zoe McFall; three great-grandchildren, Mathew McClung, Samantha Payne and Jamie Payne; and a host of dear friends. Memorial services will be held 12:00 noon, Wednesday, in the chapel of Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. His last wish was for us to celebrate his life. We Love You, Grandpa.
