Obituary for Williams

Virginia R. Williams, 66, a resident of Albuquerque, went to be with our Lord on March 16, 1999. She died of brain cancer at the age of 66. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Charles E. Williams Sr.; son, Charles E. William Jr. and wife, Helen; daughter, Linda G. Ferguson and husband, Wade; grandsons, Charles E. Williams III and Brian Ferguson; granddaughters, Krista Williams, Amy Hill and husband, Paul, and Lisa Ferguson; great-grandson, Colby Marshall, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Joe Hicks and wife, Charlene, Carl Hicks and wife, Clorine, Ralph Hicks and wife, Thelma, Pete Hicks and wife, Mickey, all of Missouri; brothers-in-law, Dalton Williams and wife, Opal, Tom Williams and wife, Jean, Devon Williams and wife, Kay, Dewey Williams and wife, Carol; sisters-in-law, Shirley Cogar and husband, Ted, Gertie Gibson, Gerry Mealy and husband, Junior, Genevie Saeler and husband, John; and cousin, Joe C. Hicks and wife, Lila, all from back East. She was preceded in death by her father, Alba Hicks of Albuquerque; and mother, Leota Gibbs of Poplar Bluff, MO. Mrs. Williams was born in Poplar Bluff, MO on October 18, 1932 and moved to Albuquerque in 1942. She married Charlie on August 20, 1948 in Albuquerque. Virginia retired from Montgomery Wards in January, 1984, after 20 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, doing crafts, going to yard sales, and wintering in Yuma, AZ. She loved her family unconditionally and was a wonderful friend to many. Mrs. Williams will be lovingly remembered at a memorial service, Saturday, March 20, 1999, 2:00 p.m., at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona NE,with Rev. Charlie Price officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, on Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. .DMP
