Obituary for Riner

Dorothea Varntz Riner, longtime resident of Albuquerque, died February 11, 1999, at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; and daughter, Ann Riner. She is survived by her niece, Shannon Laury and husband, Thomas; cousins, Mary Short and Bob McCann; nephew, Tom Riner of Indiana; and caregivers, Jessie and Anthony Chavez, and Sally Lovato. Mrs. Riner had been very active in the Senior Citizens Centers in the city for a number of years, teaching bridge. She was also a long time member of the First Unitarian Church. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 15, 1:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, with Glenn Ricketts officiating. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place.
