Obituary for Halliday

Ora Ann Smith Halliday, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, passed away on Monday, February 8, 1999 following a long illness. Ann was born on June 20, 1918 in Mammoth, UT. She is survived by her husband of 55 yeas, LCDR John Reed Halliday, USN Ret.; sons, John Robert Halliday of Tinian Island and Lee Patten Halliday of Albuquerque; daughter, Jean Annette Tindell and husband, Steve of Dubuque, IA; sister, Jean Reid of St. George, UT; and seven grandchildren. Ann graduated from BYU with a BA in Elementary Education, from UNM with a MA in special education and did upper graduate work towards a doctorate in special education. She was active in the LDS church, serving in several different positions, including Relief Society president. She was a special education teacher at UNM and retired from that position in 1980. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 12, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. in the LDS Haines Street Chapel at 5707 Haines NE. Bishop Marlin McNeil will conduct the services. Burial will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m., Friday afternoon. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, February 11, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Sandia Funeral Care, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
