Obituary for Lucero

Sam C. Lucero, 93, beloved father and grandfather, was called home to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 31, 1999. Mr. Lucero was born on December 25, 1905 in Albuquerque; he was one of the first settlers in Los Duranes, at the time known as Las Casitas; he was a parishioner of San Jose Mission de Duranes. He was a loyal employee to St. Joseph Medical Center for 39 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Eloisa Lucero in 1988. He is survived by one son, Vincent Paul Lucero; two daughters, Mary Lou Baca and husband, Ray, Bobbie Lucero, all of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Rene Baca, Stacy Baca Griego and husband, Jude, Vincent Paul Lucero Jr. and wife, Trish. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Final viewing for Sam will be this morning, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, on the corner of 8th Street and Stover. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at San Jose Mission de Duranes. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Vincent P. Lucero Sr., Vincent Lucero Jr., Ray C. Baca, Jude Griego, Joe Chavarria and Anthony Vigil. Services are under the direction of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW.
