Obituary for Wittler

Hans Otto Wittler, 64, beloved husband, father and Opa, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 4, 1999. Hans Otto was born on April 3, 1934 in Bielefeld, Germany. In January of 1958, Hans Otto moved to Albuquerque and in 1959 he was drafted into the United States Armed Forces. After serving two years of active duty in Panama, he continued his military service in the Reserves. In 1974, Hans Otto and his wife opened Hans Wittler's Automotive. He was a well-respected mechanic and Porsche expert, as well as a founding member of the Porsche Club of America. Hans Otto was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Christel; his sons, Roger Wittler, wife, Kristy and granddaughter, Riley Adell, Andreas Wittler and his wife, Heather; sister, Rosie Wittler of Lengerich, Germany; sister-in-law, Ursula and husband, Ervin, nephew, Rainer Zander, all of Bielefeld, Germany, as well as many close friends. Services will beheld Friday, January 8, 1999 at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Internment will follow. Pallbearers will be Roger Wittler, Andreas Wittler, Terry Riordan, Bob Gilbert, Bob Stetz and Don Mulder. Friends may pay their respects at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, Thursday, January 7, 1999, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. .DMP
