Obituary for Herrera

Ernestine G. Herrera was called to be with the Lord on January 2, 1999. Formerly of Jarales and now resident of Albuquerque for 50 years, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gabriel B. Herrera. Also by her parents, Ignacio and Maria San Juan Gallegos; five brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Herrera was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister. She volunteered at Barrett House and was a secular Dominican. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Flora S. Gallegos, Eumelia H. Pohl and husband, Dennis; brothers-in-law, Ramon S. Herrera and wife, Roselia, Albert J. Herrera and wife, Frances; numerous nephews and nieces; grandnephews and nieces; and great-grandnephews and nieces. Funeral services for Mrs. Herrera will be held on Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bruce Gallegos, Timothy McCleary, Robert Gallegos, Isaac Abeyta, Ramon Herrera, and Jake Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Sandoval, Santiago Armijo, Sally Gomez, Sister Renee Turcotte, Sister Dorothy Hansen and Dennis Pohl. A Rosary for Mrs. Herrera will be recited on Wednesday afternoon, 4:00 p.m., at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary.
