Obituary for Montoya

Sister Victoriana Montoya In her 75th year as a Sister of Loretto, Sister Victoriana, 95, celebrated her Diamond Jubilee Sunday morning, just before she passed away. Sister was born in Bernalillo in 1903 and was received in the Loretto order in 1924. Sister Victoriana lived and taught in New Mexico and El Paso for all but four months of her 75 years as a teacher and volunteer. She retired to Nazareth Hall in 1990, but continued doing doll making and volunteering. She is survived by her sister, Veronica Hall in Albuquerque; and several nephews and nieces. She will be missed by the Nurses and Staff at Nazareth Hall and by the Sisters of Loretto. Rosary will be in Nazareth Chapel on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and Mass on Wednesday in the Nazareth Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Sister Victoriana Montoya had wanted to live to celebrated her 75th anniversary as a Sister of Loretto. On Sunday, April 25, Sister enjoyed a ceremony in her honor and thanked and offered her own congratulation to the group. Minutes after arriving back in her room she quietly took her last breath.
