Obituary for Beall

Marcia McClary Beall, 68, born January 4, 1931, in Dawson, New Mexico, died May 15, 1999, at her home with family members at her side. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, George; two daughters, Nancy Nickoley and husband, Paul and their sons, Scott, Todd and Karl of Highlands Ranch, CO, Sandra Russell and husband, William and their son, Aidan of New York City; one brother, J. Robert McClary and wife, Sonja of Eureka, CA; one sister, Carol McClary Myers of Albuquerque; and numerous nephews and nieces. Marcia volunteered countless hours during her husband's military career and established homes in Kentucky, Germany, Oklahoma, Washington, Texas, Kansas, Washington, DC, and Albuquerque. Since 1973 she had taken care of all administrative responsibilities for the family business. Marcia was a founding member of the Convention and Activities Committee of the New Mexico Home Builders Association and gave generously of her time and talent for more than eight years. Her particular focus each year was the design and fabrication of unique tote bags that quickly became the"signature event" for the Association trips and caused her to be known affectionately as"The Bag Lady." Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte NE, with Rev. Dewey Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
