William Matthes Jr., age 61, a resident of Albuquerque for 19 years, died March 31, 1999. He is survived by wife, Suzanne of Albuquerque; sons, John Hampton Matthes and wife, Donna of Kansas City, MO, James William Matthes of Independence, MO; and granddaughter, Sarah L. Matthes. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Matthes and Gladys Matthes. He was the owner of BJ's Sporting Goods for 13 years. A Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 3, 1999 at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home, 226 S. Odell St. Marshall, MO. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, in charge of arrangements.
