Barbara S. Sanchez, 82, born October 5, 1916, left this world in the arms of an angel on March 26, 1999. She was a native of Albuquerque and born in Old Town. Our mother had a kind heart and a gentle soul, and will be very missed by her family and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Herminio and Domitila G. Sanchez; her husband of 52 years, Fidel S. Sanchez; daughters, Sofie and Nelda Sanchez; sister, Helen Chavez; brothers, Thomas, Daniel and Esequiel Sanchez; also several other family members. She is survived by her daughters, Fay Harkins, Gloria Silva and husband, Manuel, and Loretta Sanchez Chavez and husband, Melvin; her sons, Johnny Sanchez and Phillip Sanchez and wife, Becky; her sister, Isabel Vallejos; brother, Nick Sanchez and wife, Helen; nine grandchildren, Christine Vargas, Diana Schultz, and Barbara Moore and husband, David, Shawna and Wesley Sanchez, Gina Silva and Gary Silva and wife, Christina, Monica Sanchez Cano and husband, Dustin, and JonEric Sanchez; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and friends. Special thanks to Irene Maldonado for your help and kindness. Cremation has taken place with Sunrise Society. Rosary will be held Tuesday, March 30, 7:00 p.m., at St. Therese Church. Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, March 31, 10:00 a.m., also at St. Therese Church. Deacon Manuel Montoya will officiate. Barbara's cremains will be place at Sunset Memorial Park on Menual following the Mass.
