Mr. Alex F. Serna, Sr., 54, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on March 23, 1999. Mr. Serna is the beloved husband of 36 years to Mrs. Gloria Serna. He is also survived by two daughters, Debbie Martinez and husband, Scott and Frances Serna and fiancä, Jose Torres; one son, Alex Serna Jr. and wife, Adette; eight grandchildren, Monique, Nichole, Alexandria"Punkie", Carlos, Anthony Ray, Alexus, Julian and Gabrielle; three sisters, Nellie Ramirez, Regina Valente and husband, Terry, Cathy Lopez and husband, Rumaldo Ortega; three brothers, Richard Serna and wife, Sara, Mike Serna and wife, Emma and Albert Lopez and wife, Debbie; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Mr. Serna was a member of the Catholic Church; past president of Local Union #624 A.F.L.-C.I.O., and was employed by the City of Albuquerque (Solid Waste Dept.). He was loved by all and will be deeply missed. A rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church 1860 Griegos N.W. with visitation at the church after 6:30 p.m., Blem Parra and Ida Segura will recite the Rosary. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with final viewing at the church after 9:30. Father Richard Olona, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mario Marin, Carl Garcia, Wayne Wills, Bobby Ray Espinoza, David Garcia and Johnny Serna. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tyrone Perry-Hill, Anthony Griego, Shelley Burlingame, and Adolfo Garza. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW in charge of arrangements.
